North 40 Lodge is committed to offering a comfortable and inclusive experience for all guests. Built in 1950 and thoughtfully updated to preserve its rustic charm, our property features lodge rooms and a private cabin nestled in a serene, natural setting. While the property is not listed on the National Register of Historic Places, we strive to maintain the character of its original design while welcoming guests of all abilities.

Due to the age and layout of the property, North 40 Lodge does not currently offer ADA-compliant guest rooms. However, we do provide accommodations that may be suitable for guests with limited mobility, and accessible common areas are available.

Physical Barriers Include:

  • One to two steps are required to access most guest rooms
  • No elevator or lift access (all accommodations are single-level)
  • Standard-width doorways that may not accommodate wheelchairs
  • Bathrooms without roll-in showers or ADA grab bars

Accessible Accommodation:

While we do not have any fully ADA-compliant rooms, our private Cabin offers a more accessible experience for guests with limited mobility:

The Cabin: Features a stepless entry, single-level layout, and a walk-in shower for easier access. It is our most mobility-friendly option and ideal for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.

Parking and Common Areas:

  • Accessible parking is available on site
  • Common areas of the property are wheelchair accessible, including gathering spaces and outdoor relaxation areas
  • Walkways to most rooms involve one to two steps; assistance may be required

Commitment to Accessibility:

We strive to ensure that every guest can visit our property regardless of their physical abilities. To comply with the ADA, we:

  • Enable individuals with disabilities to make reservations during the same hours and in the same manner as those without disabilities.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of the features in our bed and breakfast and guest rooms to help individuals with disabilities determine if our accommodations meet their needs.
  • Reserve accessible guest rooms for individuals with disabilities until all other rooms of that type are rented.
  • Guarantee that specific rooms, once reserved, are held for the reserving customer.
  • Collaborate with third-party reservation systems to make all rooms available through at least some of these services and provide them with information about the hotel’s features and rooms.
  • Allow guests with legitimate service animals, as defined by the ADA, access to all areas of the property available to those without service animals.
